Through introspection and exploration we work together to identify and work through barriers interfering with life goals and a healthier way of living. The wilderness surrounding this resort provides an amazing venue to purposefully disconnect from our busy and often overwhelming lives. Through our nature-focused experience, we seek insight and connection through serene hikes, fire-side chats, and nature-based contemplation.
Co-facilitator, Dr. David Scheinfeld brings extensive experience in the cross section of wilderness therapy, men’s issues, and cognitive behavioral frameworks. In addition to publications and research in these areas, With years of experience leading Outward Bound courses, he he has developed a strategic set of experiential approaches to promote introspection and skill-building far more challenging in an office setting.
This experience will help you to uncover what is truly important to you, followed by creating attainable goals for tangible changes in your life. Each day will provide a balance of challenge, joy/fun, and introspection with a consistent focus on how you can make a useful shift to promote healthy changes in your life.
Themes:
- Day One: What is keeping you stuck, and what do you want to do about it? This day will focus on bringing forward an honest assessment of your life, identify what is keeping you in unhealthy patterns, and begin game planning how to get unstuck.
- Day Two: How to take rational and useful perspectives to identify your core motives and what is genuinely important. This day will allow you to clearly identify what changes you can realistically make in your life, and why those changes would be important to you and your relationships.
- Day Three: What are going to do about it? Our final day will provide each participate a road map to create personalized goals for intrapersonal and interpersonal change moving forward in their life.
